The Durance of Hate is the final dungeon in Act III, accessible after smashing the Compelling Orb with Khalim's Will in Travincal. It has three levels; a waypoint can be found on the second one. The third level, called Seat of Hatred, is the lair of Mephisto, who must be killed in order to progress to Act IV, and additionally houses three super unique monsters: Gorestone, Sinwar of the Storm (a Disciple of Hatred) and Bremm Sparkfist (a Twisted Councillor).
On Nightmare difficulty, Mephisto opens a portal to Kurast 3000 BA when he dies. The character must be at least level 80 to go to this location to complete the Ennead Challenge.
